TikTok Legacy Integration Deprecation March 31

By March 18, 2025March 19th, 2025Product Updates 11 Min Read

Legacy attribution available through April 29

TikTok’s migration to a self-attributing network (SAN) is nearing its final milestone. Per this prior post, most TikTok advertisers measuring with Kochava completed their transition from TikTok’s legacy integration to the SAN integration at the end of August 2024.

Effective March 31, 2025, it is no longer possible to create new campaign trackers within Kochava for the legacy TikTok integrations TikTok for Business – Android and TikTok for Business – iOS.

Legacy Attribution Deprecation

To make this final transition phase as smooth as possible, Kochava and TikTok will continue to process attribution and provide reporting for traffic on the legacy integrations through April 29. Effective April 30, legacy integration attribution ceases processing, with any new reporting no longer available. Reporting is available for attribution processed through April 29.

Important Steps to Take

If you currently advertise with TikTok and measure campaigns with Kochava, we recommend the following steps:

STEP 1: Legacy Campaign Migration

If you’re one of the few advertisers who still has active campaigns traversing the legacy integration, please contact your Kochava client success manager and TikTok account representative to arrange for migrating your campaigns to the new SAN integration. Proactive communications attempting to migrate you may have been missed or hit your spam inbox.

Unsure if this applies to you?

We highly recommend that you run a Network Summary report filtered to the legacy network names TikTok for Business – Android on your Android app(s) and TikTok for Business – iOS on your iOS app(s). If the report contains any recent traffic, you have campaigns traversing the legacy integration.

PRO TIP: If you have many apps where you’re running TikTok campaigns, you can use cross-app analytics filtered across both iOS and Android apps to quickly discover any traffic volume on the legacy integrations.

STEP 2: Reporting Updates

Check and update any existing recurring reports containing network name filters. Be sure the network name is updated to TikTok for Business – SAN as opposed to TikTok for Business – Android or TikTok for Business – iOS.

Additionally, if you’re using custom advertiser postbacks or mapping Kochava attribution data to your internal data infrastructure, you need to account for the updated naming in case it’s leveraged as a match key or name lookup. Taking these steps proactively will ensure continuity in your reporting.

STEP 3: Final Campaign Audit

After April 30, we recommend running reports and/or viewing install and event data in analytics filtered to the new network name TikTok for Business – SAN. Please review all TikTok campaign names and ensure alignment with all active app campaigns. If you do notice any missing app campaigns, contact your TikTok account representative to troubleshoot.
